The homebuilding pipeline in order: units authorised, units started and units completed, at a seasonally adjusted annual rate. A permit comes before a start and a start before a completion, so a bend in the earliest line shows up in the rest only months later. This row counts every structure type, which means apartments are in it, and the sales release next door counts single-family houses only. The houses that are sold have their own row, Single-Family Homes, because a sales count and an apartment count cannot share an axis honestly.
